Film analysis: how shots organize concepts
The visitor's arrival and departure supply no solution; they push each social role in a family to a point where it can no longer perform itself.
- 01One visitor triggers different relations
The visitor approaches maid, son, mother, daughter, and father in turn, with repetition preserving the difference of each bodily relation.
The family is not explained by one seduction; it is split into five problems not yet formed. - 02Departure disables roles
After the visitor leaves, the maid levitates, the son paints, the mother seeks strangers, the daughter becomes rigid, and the father gives away his factory.
No act restores family order; each drives an existing identity toward impossibility. - 03The problem remains in the desert
The father walks naked through station and wasteland, and his final prolonged cry receives neither answer nor explanation.
The film does not prove a proposition by conclusion; it lets the unthinkable persist as body and empty space.
