Reading and citing the atlas
Follow a definition to its primary-text pages, or a film analysis to its scenes and scholarship. Find guidance on translations, citations, editions, and viewing links here.
Keeping concept terms consistent
The glossary aligns French, English, atlas terms, regional variants, semantic boundaries, and edition evidence. Published translations document traditions; community corpora support discovery. Virtual names a fully real virtual state.
Tiered film evidence
Deleuze's direct conceptual discussions, brief mentions, cited later scholarship, and atlas research propositions are shown separately. Curatorial programmes, course lists, and retrospectives may support atlas propositions; films discussed by Deleuze are further distinguished as sustained cases or brief mentions.
Verifiable researcher sample
The scholar map uses explicit inclusion criteria: sustained work, reconstruction, critique, or influential new concepts. Region records affiliation.
Tiered access status
Access fields separate source-recorded OA, preview, abstract, catalogue, purchase, subscription, and mixed routes; full-text extent, current reachability, and reuse rights are recorded independently.
Rights and accessibility together
Official carriers and user repost gateways carry separate labels. Key stills bind film, timecode, and source page for scene-level analysis; public records retain rights status, territorial limits, and screening terms.
Follow connections through the atlas
Open a concept, film, or book to read its analysis. Primary-text, scholarship, and atlas-analysis labels identify the source of each connection; scene links supply stills and viewing positions.
Separate headings, atlas terms, and pages
Published headings are transcribed verbatim; atlas terms receive a separate guide field. Print pages, PDF-viewer pages, and language editions remain distinct.
Scene evidence by field
Scene records separately store visible facts, audible facts, action, time, criterion, concepts, terms, chapters, primary pages, timecode status, and viewing source. The film carrier establishes image access; primary locators establish the theoretical relation.
SUPPLIED RESEARCH REVIEW
Review scope
The review contains a three-level researcher definition, a conservative 55+ sample, four decades of development, five major pathways, and seven core disputes; these become searchable people, works, concepts, and debate records.
Method fields record Anglophone visibility bias, name normalization, disciplinary boundaries, and the distinction between citation counts and theoretical depth.
